The photograph provides a wonderful early view of the falls with buildings visible beyond the Genesee River. The mount is prominently printed “Geo. H. Monroe, Photographer” and the image is captioned “Genesee High Falls, Rochester, N.Y.”
An appealing piece of early Rochester and Western New York photographic history, particularly nice for collectors of stereoviews, regional photography and Genesee River memorabilia.
Condition: Original antique condition with age toning, surface/edge wear and rounded/worn corners. There is a small divot/loss along the right edge of the mount, as pictured. Reverse has old handwritten markings and a small adhered paper/remnant near the upper edge. Please see photographs for complete condition.
