💛 Antique 1910s La Balca Gold Embossed Cigar Label – Victorian Lovers – NOS
Original vintage La Balca inner cigar‑box label from the 1910s, printed by Calvert Litho Co., Detroit. This richly detailed chromolithograph shows a young woman reaching up to her mounted lover with a dog at their feet and classical architecture in the background. The design is heavily embossed and highlighted with metallic “gold” so the title and figures stand out in low relief.
Size is about 4½" x 4½". The label is new old stock (unused), with clean paper, strong color, and deep embossing.
Cigar labels from this period were produced using painstaking stone‑lithography, with multiple color passes and then bronzing and embossing to create a jewel‑like effect—far more labor‑intensive than modern printing.
