Beautiful vintage nephrite jade and sterling silver hand mirror featuring an elegant pale celadon-colored stone handle and an intricately carved nephrite panel on the reverse. These often date back to the Qing Dynasty (19th Century) however I have not had this one dated/confirmed.
The round mirror is framed by an ornate sterling silver setting with a delicate beaded edge. Decorative openwork floral elements connect the mirror to the long, smoothly polished nephrite handle, giving the piece an especially graceful antique-inspired appearance. The reverse features a large round carved nephrite jade panel with an intricate floral motif Openwork in subtle relief. The soft pale green to creamy celadon coloring is particularly attractive.
Mirrors constructed like this were luxury grooming accessories popular during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic Period. They often combined older jade artifacts (like belt hooks or plaques) with contemporary silver mounts to create decorative vanity pieces
