Beautiful antique Nippon porcelain handled serving bowl featuring a hand-painted pastoral landscape with autumn-toned trees, a small cottage, water and birds. The scene is framed by an ornate cream border with elaborate gold decoration, with additional gilding on the two open handles. The underside bears the green “Hand Painted Nippon” M-in-wreath mark associated with Morimura Brothers, dating the piece to approximately 1911–1921. An especially pretty example of early Japanese export porcelain and a lovely display piece for a Nippon, early Noritake, or antique porcelain collection.
