Rare antique Perry & Co. steel pen advertising/sample card with three original steel dip pen nibs still attached.This colorful double-sided advertising card was produced for Perry & Co. of London, one of the most important historic manufacturers of steel writing pens, established in 1824.The front features wonderful period typography and graphics advertising:
“Samples of the Finest Quality of Perry & Co’s Steel Pens – For Schools and Careful Writers.”The card displays numbered positions for five different Perry & Co. pen nibs. Three nibs remain present on the card. The two outside nibs are missing. The vacant positions are marked No. 17 on the left and No. 1073 on the right.The three remaining positions appear to be:

Perry & Co. No. 81

No. 107The card also advertises a larger selection of 24 different styles available by mail for 20 cents and identifies the Spencerian Pen Co., New York as sole agents.The reverse is equally interesting and contains period advertising and instructions concerning Spencerian Blue Black Writing Fluid, along with “Things to Remember” about choosing, caring for, and using steel pens.A fantastic piece for collectors of:
