This is a beautiful, genuine antique turn-of-the-century spelter reproduction of August Kiss's famous 1841 masterpiece, "The Mounted Amazon Attacked by a Panther." This dynamic 13" x 13" desk-sized casting features excellent anatomical detail and a rich, dark classic patina with subtle copper undertones showing through. Notably, it retains both of its original, period-correct brass flathead assembly screws on either side of the rider's seat, securely locking the figure to the horse. Condition Notes: The sculpture is structurally sound with no observed cracks or breaks to the fragile limbs or spear. It features a clean, well-preserved finish. Please note that this piece does not have any foundry markings or artist signatures and is missing its original marble base/plinth.
