An antique Tressemanes & Vogt Limoges porcelain centerpiece bowl, hand painted with a continuous grapevine composition and signed by the decorator C.L.K.
The broad, shallow bowl is painted around its exterior with clusters of purple and burgundy grapes, large green vine leaves and loosely rendered stems against a softly graduated ground of lavender, pale yellow and cream. The painterly decoration has an unusually fluid quality, with visible tonal variation giving the grapes and foliage considerable depth.
The interior is finished in a luminous pearl-like glaze with subtle iridescence, providing a restrained counterpoint to the colorful exterior. Fine gilt bands finish both the flared rim and raised foot.

Good antique condition with age-related wear. There is scattered rubbing and loss to the gilt decoration along the rim and foot, together with minor surface wear and marks consistent with age. Please review photographs closely for complete condition.

The decoration has the looseness of watercolor rather than the precise repetition of transferware. Grapes and oversized leaves move continuously around the exterior against washes of lavender, green and yellow, while the unexpectedly quiet pearl-lustre interior leaves the painting almost entirely to the outside of the bowl.
