Up for sale is a scrap book collection that was assembled over the years by the Turner family who’s act was called “The Musical Turners”.The scrap book contains play bills, letters, newspaper clippings, calling cards, signed contracts and more. There’s tons of info on unique acts, theater locations and more. It’s a really neat collection of Americana, centered around theater acts
Most of the papers and letters are from the early 1900s and taper off in the mid to late teens. That’s getting into silent film and “talkies” so the live stage acts started to thin out around that time.
