Antique WAECHTERSBACH Germany CREAMWARE VASE Reticulated TRANSFERWARE 1885

Genuine Victorian era vase, superb handwork

8.6\" tall x 5.5\" across top, base is 3.5\" across

Fabulous transferware pattern of basketweave lines and floral bunches, in many shades of blue from deep navy to light blue. The attention to detail is over the top- each flower bunch that goes around the center of vase is different.

Beautiful woven rope pattern at foot. Inner rim is also decorated with scrolls and patterns.

There are applied small flower medallions in 3 rows which give a dimensional effect.

Reticulated [openwork] creamware with diamonds and stretched ovals. Dazzling with light shining through.

Fully marked on underside with their beehive symbol plus the ID number DEC2204 and an impressed number of 5129/4. The beehive symbol that is printed is dated to 1885, in 1893 they began using a triangle mark with the beehive which is not here hence the early date.

Very good condition, would list as Excellent but for one very small flake off of bottom at rim edge, see last pic. Very minor, and someone painted it to match the blue transferware color long ago so it isn\'t very visible. Other than that, vase is PRISTINE. No nicks chips scratches or repair. No crazing.
