For sale is a antique hewing broad axe weighing 5lbs. 14.8 oz., with a 9-11/16\" edge, with a \"1-1/2\" wide X 3-1/4\" long poll, or end. Signed \"Wm. Beatty & Son Chester, Pa.\"{circa 1839-1882}, it has a chipped edge end, along with some light chipping on the rest of the edge, all as shown in the 5th-11th pictures, which will respond well to honing and sharpening by a experienced hand. The poll is excellent, showing minimal use and wear, as pictured.
