Offered is a vintage/antique patriotic American flag celluloid pinback button, approximately 5/8” in diameter.
The button features a colorful American flag design on a gold/cream-colored background with a metal-tone outer rim. The reverse has an early-style wire pinback mechanism. Based on the design and construction, this piece is possibly from the Spanish-American War era, circa 1898–1902.
The face shows age-related crazing/cracking and surface wear, consistent with an old celluloid piece. The reverse has age-related patina and does not show an obvious maker’s mark. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
A great small piece of early American patriotic memorabilia for collectors of Spanish-American War, political Americana, patriotic buttons, celluloid buttons, or historical ephemera.
