--- Jaws open 1.5\", jaws have a useable area of 1-7/8\" deep x .75\" wide. Measures 6-7/8\" when fully closed. Thumb wheel turns easily, no damage to gearing/shaft. The jaws do show wear with indenting etc and other type of wear from heavy use.
