Letter says: \"Will you kindly accept the accompanying book. It is taken from my history and has been put into a biographical form by my son. I wish it were more worthy of your acceptance.\"

Sir Arthur Helps KCB DCL (July 1813 – Mar 1875) was an English writer and dean of the Privy Council. He was a Cambridge Apostle and an early advocate of animal rights.

Sir George Grove CB (Aug 1820 – May 1900) was an English engineer and writer on music, known as the founding editor of Grove\'s Dictionary of Music and Musicians.
