Tim Beaumont didn’t ease into pipe making — he flat-out changed lanes. In 2018 he walked away from his day job to chase woodworking full-time, and before long that road led straight to briar. What started with one pipe turned into Papa Bear’s Pipes, and Beaumont has since carved out a serious spot in the modern American artisan scene.
His work runs from dead clean classics to big, aggressive freehands, with the kind of shaping, blasting and finishing that makes you know who built it before you ever read the stamp. Bulldogs, Rhodesians, eggs, blowfish, volcanos, cobras, bamboo work and horn accents. Tim ain’t scared to swing the hammer. His current handmade pipes regularly and dealer inventories show a long trail of sold out Papa Bears behind him.
And this isn’t some anonymous guy hiding behind a stamp. Beaumont has been a featured guest on the Pipes Magazine Radio Show, co-hosted Pipe and Tobacco Talk, and has become a recognizable fixture in the American pipe community.
Papa Bear pipes are stout, confident, unmistakably handmade American briar, built by a carver whose reputation is moving the same direction as his pipes: up.
If you collect contemporary American artisans, Tim Beaumont belongs on the damn rack.

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
