THE AVENGERS #55, August 1968, Marvel Comics. First full appearance of ULTRON.
“Mayhem Over Manhattan!” The Crimson Cowl steps out of the shadows and is revealed as Ultron-5, the robot who would become the Avengers’ most persistent enemy. Written by Roy Thomas, drawn by John Buscema, inked by George Klein, lettered by Sam Rosen, edited by Stan Lee. The Black Panther and the Black Knight feature on the cover alongside the team.
To be exact about the key: Ultron is seen earlier, hooded and unrevealed, as the Crimson Cowl in Avengers #54. This is hisfirst full appearanceand the first time he is revealed as Ultron.
Verified against the indicia, photographed in shot 09. It reads:

Vista Publications is the correct 1968 publisher for this title. No barcode, as expected.Original 1968 first printing, not a reprint.
CONDITION: VG 4.0. The flaws, first:
•A small split at the lower staple on the spine, roughly 1/4 inch, with a light rust spot at the staple. Shot 07.
•Gloss is largely gone and the cover shows moderate surface wrinkling.Shot 02 is lit from the side specifically to show it; flat light hides it.
•A small colour-breaking abrasionon the purple fist just below the logo.
•Light wear along the top edgeand a few small ticks near the top of the spine. Shots 02 and 05.
•All four corners lightly blunted.Shots 05-08.
•Tanningon the cover and the back-cover border, and tan interior pages. Shots 03 and 10.
What holds up:
•No colour-breaking creases across the cover artand no pieces missing.
•The spine lies flat, with no roll. Shot 04.
•Back cover is free of creases.Shot 03.
•Complete, centerfold attached. Shot 11.
