BHOOMI Playing Cards - Standard Bloom Ed. by Bivas Bhattacharjee / Orion PC For Sale

BHOOMI Playing Cards is the third release in the Elemental Playing Cards series designed by Bivas Bhattacharjee for Orion Playing Cards, and printed by the King Star Playing Card Company on 310 gsm black-core stack. It is named after the Sanskrit word for land/earth, "bhoomi". The Standard Bloom Edition is a vibrant addition in the BHOOMI series.
It was produced using transfer process printing where the cards were covered in foil then printing was done on top. The embossed tuck box has a color palette of red, forest brown, and brilliant gold; a depiction of the tree of life on the back; and the Sanskrit phrase"वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्" (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or "The World is One Family") is on one side. Each card has a brilliant gold selective shine which contrasts against the earthen background tones. Inside the pips is the tree of life, while the card backs feature a symmetrical vegetative pattern. Every suit has a different theme: the Diamonds depicts the myriad ways earth is connected to magic & different mythoses, the Clubs represent the physical relationship between humanity and the land, the Hearts highlight the spiritual bond between people and the land, and the Spades celebrate influential scholars of the earth. The King portrays Eratosthenes, a Greek polymath who calculated the circumference of the Earth, the Queen depicts Mary Anning, an English fossil hunter, and the Jack shows Dmitri Mendeleev, a Russian chemist who discovered periodic trends (patterns present amongst certain elements as seen in the periodic table).

Images 7-14 are renders taken from the Kickstarter campaign to show the card designs -- the actual cards may vary slightly. Please not that this edition is not gilded. The only image I could find of the card backs has gilding, but the standard decks do not have gilding.
