Vintage pair of bronze tribal musician statues from India made in the traditional style of the country\'s handcrafted metal art called Bastar Dhokra.
These statues are cast in bronze with a greenish verdigris patina, and have a primitive look, with the men wearing fancy headdresses. Their bodies are crafted in an elongated style, similar to the Mid-Century abstract sculptures of Alberto Giacometti. One is banging on a tambourine, and the other is beating a drum. The bottoms of the metal bases are covered in brown felt.Each statue stands 17\" tall by 4\" wide by 2.5\" deep, and each weighs 2.5 lbs. apiece.
These two large statues are perfect for any east Indian art collection, Primitivist or Modernist decor.
