The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller driven heavy bomber that was flown during World War Two and the Korean War, primarily by the United States. It was one of the largest operational aircraft during the war and highly advanced for the time and was the first bomber to have a pressurized cabin. It had its maiden flight on 21 September 1942. Of the 3,970 aircraft manufactured, there are only two B-29\'s left today that are airworthy and are the stars of any airshows or events they attend.
This Boeing B-29 \"Lucky \'Leven\", was assigned to the 29th Bomb Group, 40th Bomb Squadron flying out of Tinian Island in the Pacific Ocean Marianas Island chain. Despite numerous battle damage during missions, \"Lucky \'Leven\" always managed to return to base. The aircraft was involved in some of the most destructive firebombing raids over Tokyo and numerous industrial centers in Japan.
This 1:72 scale highly detailed mahogany reproduction of the Boeing B-29 \"Lucky \'Leven\" is an excellent reproduction of this famous aircraft. The model features:
