Bossier Base was a top secret nuclear base within Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City Louisiana. This base was used for assembly and stockpiling of nuclear weapons during the Cold war. Only 6 of these sites existed in the USA during this time. Bossier Base was opened in 1951 and was closed in 1970. The base also hosted a Boy Scout troop, troop 1095. According to an article found in the October 18th 1959 issue of Bossier Tribune Troop 1095 had recently held their first Court of Honor. It is unknown when the troop had officially started, though that article makes it likely that Bossier only hosted a Boy Scout Troop for a total of 11 years prior to closing.
