Beautiful vintage CAO lattice carved block meerschaum pipe, NOS/unsmoked, complete with its fitted CAO case.
This one has a crisp allover lattice pattern with teardrop piercings around the bowl and finer circular lattice work along the shank. The shape is a graceful bent dublin with a tall cylindrical bowl, sweeping shank, and translucent amber-swirl stem. The stem still has an old CAO retail sticker attached, and the case is marked “Block Meerschaum Made in Turkey.”
The pipe is unsmoked with a clean chamber and no cake. There is some minor discoloration to the meerschaum that generally happens with use and handling. There may be minor age/storage marks from case contact and handling, but overall this presents extremely well. The fitted case shows normal age, wear to hardware/hinges/latches, and interior wear, but it displays nicely and protects the pipe.
