Calcite Todorokite Inclusions Translucent Medford Quarry Maryland For Sale

Not many specimens like this one. This is a less common, exceptional, lustrous, water clear translucent Calcite specimen from Medford Quarry, Maryland, with Manganese bearing Todorokite inclusions that give the crystals an exotic appearance.  2.65\" x 1.75\" x 1.62\" or 67.3mm x 44.6mm x 41.2mm. The interiors of the Calcite crystals where the Todorokite inclusions occur (which cause the Calcite to present with a \"garden quartz\" or \"lodolite\" appearance) fluoresce a fascinating pink-orange color when exposed to UV light. Your will enjoy exploring the Todorokite present in these glassy, highly transparent Calcite crystals. Of particular note is that the Todorokite in this Calcite occurs with hollow or tunnel-like structure, evident by the Calcite crystal on one side of the specimen that displays a cleaved appearance. The majority of the crystals in this cluster are exceptional. Miniscule, nearly indeterminable nicks and cleaving to a couple crystals, however most faces and terminations are clean. This is an outstanding specimen to display or add to a collection, it has excellent clarity and transparency. 70 grams.
