I see a ¼” chip at the end of one of the leaves on what I think isa banana tree – see photos –

I am the second owner. the first owner was on a trip to mexico whenhe met carmela and bought some of her pottery artwork. in turn, i acquired his collection

I do not think he left me a note regarding this piece of pottery –i do not know the significance of the wasp nest . . .

Carmela MartinezAlvarez is a well known mexican Folk/Primitive artist from the Ocumicho regionin Mexico. Her work has been mentioned in the book PRIMITIVISM AND IDENTITY INLATIN AMERICA edited by Erik Camayd-Freixas and José Eduardo González.
