An exceptional, historic original master glass plate negative taken by pioneer wildlife photographers Richard and Cherry Kearton c. 1902–1903.

This primary camera negative depicts a Cuckoo perched beside a nest in a lichen-covered tree fork. It features original period studio paper labels stuck directly to the margin, reading: "Photo Rich and Cherry Kearton / Keartons Wild Natures Ways 1903 / HAM No 32" alongside index mark "39 K".
