Classic Tarahumara pottery olla. Superb early polychrome example Ca. 1950-1975 For Sale

Superb Tarahumara water olla with white-on-red geometric designs. Dates from the mid-20th century and collected in 1970. Beautiful burnished surface. Measures ca. 12 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter. Body is structurally sound, with no apparent cracks, and no repairs. Similar olla pictured in The Other Southwest, the definitive exhibition catalog published by the Heard Museum, Phoenix, in 1977. This piece was collected by Bernard Fontana, the well-know collector and student of Tarahumara culture.
