This colorful, handcrafted kokeshi is named" Akimai" meaning Autumn Dance. Chiya is the daughter  of Master Fumio Tomidokoro, one of the most important kokeshi artisan's alive today. Chiya is known  for her contemporary take on traditional Japanese kokeshi dolls using vivid colors, and joyous facial expressions .expressions  Her kimono is bright green, yellow ,and orange adorned with textured dark brown,  ginko leaves. This Kokeshi doll, crafted with precision and care, captures the essence and beauty of the Fall season; the changing of the leaves and   showcases the artistry , aesthetics, and love of Nature , prevalent in Japanese culture.
