Impressive 21-inch hand-carved African hardwood sculpture signed “Dejo Fakeye” on the underside.
This tall vertical composition depicts a kneeling ceremonial figure holding a staff, surmounted by a carved head form with geometric and symbolic detailing. The form reflects Yoruba sculptural traditions with strong architectural balance and refined hand-tool carving throughout.
The base is clearly carved “DEJO FAKEYE.” The carving displays confident tool work, deep relief detail, and warm aged patina consistent with late 20th-century Nigerian hardwood sculpture.
