Original 59-document historical and postal-history archive centred on Dilly Coleman Holmes and the Holmes family of
Wellandport, Ontario. The collection spans 1875-1930 and includes postal cards, covers and correspondence documenting
business and credit activity, Agricultural Society administration, Dufferin Masonic Lodge, fancy-poultry breeding and trade,
civic/legal status and family life. Research accompanying the collectiom identifies Dilly Coleman Holmes (1842-1935) as a
long-serving Wellandport postmaster and local public figure. Surviving correspondence addresses him as J.P.; additional
evidence documents his Agricultural Society and Masonic roles. A contemporary obituary, Ontario death registration, 1885
family marriage registration, Masonic newspaper reporting and land-record references have been correlated with the
