ENORMOUS 27" Vintage AFRICAN FORK & SPOON SET Hand Carved Wood HUMAN EFFIGY FIGURES
Circa 1950s or early 1960s
Fork is 27" long x 5.5" wide at widest fork end
Spoon is 26.75" x 7.25" at widest spoon bowl
Exquisite Quality, Each Piece Is Carved From One Solid Piece Of Wood. Feels like balsa wood, which would be a traditional type of wood for carving. It has been stained a lovely buckskin tan color.
This gorgeous sculptural fork/spoon set is carved with wonderful and very lifelike skill, and portrays the figures of 3 men sitting and kneeling, one above the other.
Very beautiful- each carved human figure in the wood adds fantastic texture and detail.
Very collectible. Almost never found in such a large size, a showstopper when hung on a wall.Each has a corded hanging loop at top, ready to hang.
While technically these could be used as serving pieces, this set has never been used and has been strictly decorative.
Excellent condition, this is a completely hand carved set made from solid wood. Absolutely gorgeous no flaws no nicks chips cracks scratches or damage to wood. A tiny MINOR scuff on surface at end tip of spoon, does not affect wood. See last pic. See all pics and use zoom.
