Description
Featured here is a an early Staffordshire Pearlware figure featuring the Roman God Neptune riding on a dolphin standing on a square plinth. This piece is attributed to Enoch Woods (1759-1840) of Burslem and was probably made between 1790-1810.
Figurine does not have a flat back but is molded all around, 360 degrees. Plinth has Neptune text inscription.
The underside of the piece has a decades old antique shop tag from Taunton MA identifying the maker.
Figurine is in good condition antique condition. There are some small surface cracks on the base, see pics, that do not effect stability of the piece. No other chips, cracks or restorations noted. Even though over 200 year old colors and finish are remarkable. Item has been previously displayed.
