Antique Hold to Light Postcard – May Easter Bring Thee Many Joys
A charming hold-to-light Easter greeting showing a family of rabbits on a grassy lawn beside a white picket fence. A mother rabbit in a green dress carries a blue parasol while a rabbit with a blue bow holds a large pink umbrella hung with colored eggs. Young rabbits play around an overflowing basket, surrounded by brightly decorated cracked and whole Easter eggs in red, yellow, and blue. The greeting \"May Easter Bring Thee Many Joys\" appears in purple lettering at the lower right. When held up to a light source, the colored eggs glow. The divided back is marked \"POST CARD\" in green, with a stamp box calling for a one cent stamp for the United States, Canada and Mexico and two cents for all other countries. Unposted, with a handwritten pencil inscription on the back dated Easter 1917. A great piece for collectors of hold-to-light novelty postcards, antique Easter greetings, or dressed rabbit and anthropomorphic animal cards.
