Elderly Nuns Collection of Religious Pendants Tags Symbols Some Sterling
Up for sale is this unusual group of small objects/pendants that have religious meanings.They are part of a collection that once belonged to an elderly nun and I assume that the tags, which explain the symbolic meaning of each item, were written in her hand.
The skull has a hallmarkon the loopthat looks like a swan.The red enamel cross is marked Sterling. Most do not look to be marked. None of the metal is attracted to a magnet.The hammer is 1 ¾” long while the red enamel cross piece measures 5/8” long. There are 11 pendants in all. The rooster and the sailing ship do not have hand-written tags.Look carefully at all photos, they are an essential part of the description.
