A richly colored collector specimen featuring abundant raspberry-red erythrite crystals scattered across a contrasting earthy brown matrix. The erythrite occurs as sparkling acicular to bladed crystals, with numerous crystals gathered into striking radiating sprays and small rosette-like aggregates. The saturated crimson-magenta color is particularly vivid within the specimen’s cavities, where protected crystals retain excellent luster and definition.

Erythrite is a hydrated cobalt arsenate, Co₃[AsO₄]₂·8H₂O, famous among collectors for its intense pink, crimson, and purple coloration. Because it commonly forms through the oxidation of cobalt-bearing minerals, miners historically regarded erythrite as “cobalt bloom”—its vivid color could literally signal the presence of cobalt mineralization.
