The piece features a striking octagonal form with rich cobalt flow-blue decoration, a scenic chinoiserie-style transfer design, molded lid detail, pedestal base, and a floral-style finial.
The impressed registry-style mark appears to read April 25, 1845, making this a wonderful early flow blue piece with strong decorative and historical appeal. The interior base is marked “Shapoo” in blue.
This is a very displayable antique serving piece with wonderful color and presence. The deep cobalt flow-blue border, octagonal body, domed lid, and scenic transfer decoration give it a classic early Victorian Staffordshire look.
