Offered here is a genuine fossil tortoise shell from the famous White River Badlands of Nebraska. This piece has a great natural display shape with clear shell scute patterning visible across the surface and a strong rounded profile.
The specimen measures approximately 4.9 inches long x 4.2 inches wide x 2.5 inches tall. Some original pieces have been glued back into place for stability and presentation.
The White River Badlands are well known for producing beautifully preserved Oligocene-age fossils, including early mammals, reptiles, turtles, and tortoises from ancient grassland and floodplain environments.
