Frank Schirman Black Coral Hawaiian Akua King & Eva Hula Girl Tapa PairDESCRIPTIONFrank Schirman Black Coral Hawaiian Plaques - Akua (King / Warrior) & Eva (Hula Girl with Lei) - Pair of 2 Individual Mounts on Tapa - Stunning.This is a very cute and highly collectible pair of Frank Schirman black coral Hawaiian carvings - believed to be Akua and Eva - most of these are found on one shared backing, whereas these are 2 individual pieces, which makes them much more versatile for display and shadow boxing.Condition is stunning - The carvings themselves are in pristine condition - I cannot find a chip or scrape anywhere. Glossy black with hand-painted white feather cape / lei and plumeria details intact, no rubs. See extreme close-ups.Mounting:
They are mounted on what appears to be a man-made tapa / bark cloth paper which is wrapped around card and then backed with black paper. One has a hanger - I have left it as-is, taped down. For me these need to be in shadow boxes - would look incredible floating in a deep frame.Details & Dating:
