Base: 5 ⅛" W x 3 ¾" DOne (1) hand painted, full figure maquette made of polyester resin, painted with cel vinyl paint, depicting Fred Flintstone, eyes open, black hair, dressed in a orange caveman suit with black triangular spots and a blue-green tie. Etched into the outside of the right foot is the model makers name "MELTON' and "© Hanna-Barbera Production, Inc." is on the side of the grey and white faux rock base. Excellent condition.

According to Melton’s family, the cause of death was Lewy body dementia.
Maquette-making is a highly specialized line of work, and Melton was the preeminent artist in the field for decades. In 2015, he was interviewed by Missouri’s 417 Magazine and explained the profession in his own words, saying:
