French Revolution Documents 1791 National Guard Uniform Arms & 1794 Terror Paris For Sale

Two original French Revolutionary documents, sold together as one lot - one from the constitutional monarchy of 1791, one from the height of the terror in 1794. 1. Règlement provisoire pour le service des Gardes Nationales - Paris, 1791.A single leaf printed on both sides on deckle edged laid paper. The recto is the title page with woodcut floral fleuron. The verso is the État des effets d’habillement, équipement et armement, dont les Gardes Nationales devront ètre pourvus, the official specification of everything a National Guard volunteer was issued; coat, waistcoat, and two pairs of breeches per the National Assembly decrees of 25 July and 21 September 1790; musket with bayonet, Sabre for NCO’s, sword for officers, cartridge box, belt, drum slings, three shirts, calfskin knapsack, gaiters, stockings, buckles, awl, screwdriver, and worm. Dated Paris 5 August 1791, signed in print by Duportail, Minister of War. Please note: this is a single leaf only, not the entire pamphlet.2 Certificat de Liquidation. Rentes non-viagères nationales - Paris, 26 Floréal an II (15 May 1794).Printed form completed in manuscript in brown iron-gall ink, issued under the Law of 24 Germinal an II, by which the National Treasury assumed payment of the old Hôtel de Ville annuities. Certificate number 8424, register number 3661, certifies that citizen Philippe Marie Théodore Hanecart (also read Hanneucart) was entitled to an annual sum of six hundred livres arriving from the Postes administration, with arrears due from 1 January 1790, and that no opposition to payment existed. Signed by the payer of the 38th division of rentes. Dated six weeks before the fall of Robespierre.Both documents toned commensurate with age. The 1791 leaf has minor edge roughness and light soiling. The 1794 certificate has an old horizontal fold as issued, a few small edge chips and one small hole in the left margin clear of the text.
