It shows two sailors sitting on the barrels of large naval guns aboard a warship. They are wearing traditional sailor uniforms with pom-pom caps. Behind them is a complex mast structure featuring a large clock face.
The reverse has handwritten text reading \'Nettoyage des canons\', \'France Marine\', and \'Corvée\'. There is a printed stamp for \'Copyright Par France Presse\' with a Paris address. Another stamp shows the date \'24 Mai 1934\' alongside \'Service Des Illustrations\'.
