Offered is an original July 4, 1942 “Win the War” First Day Cover, boldly signed in blue ink:
“General Omar N Bradley”
Omar N. Bradley was one of America’s most important senior commanders of World War II, commanding U.S. forces in North Africa and Europe and later becoming the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the last U.S. Army officer promoted to five-star General of the Army.
The envelope features the patriotic 3¢ “Win the War” stamp with the Washington, D.C. July 4, 1942 First Day of Issue cancellation, giving this piece excellent WWII-era historical appeal.
