GOLDSCHEIDER EVERLAST 1940s FIGURINE OF A SCOTTISH TERRIER DOG & GIRL WITH BALL For Sale

From my personal dog collection comes this outstanding figurine of a girl holding a ball and tempting her Scottie dog to play. Known to Scottie collectors as Shirley Temple with Scottie, this figurine was produced by the Goldscheider Everlast Corp, whose hallmark was used from 1941 to 1947. Please see a brief bio of this company below. The figurine is hallmarked two times, with incised numbers also under the base.The figurine itself is delightful, with appealing interaction between the girl and her dog. As she tempts him with the ball, the dog's face is full of anticipation. A stellar, and scarce, piece for Scottie and Goldscheider collectors. The figurine measures 10 1/4" tall by 7" long by 3" deep. Typical glaze crazing. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations as verified with black light exam. Goldscheider was founded by Friedrich Goldscheider in Vienna in 1885. The family left Vienna in 1938 and the factory was taken over by the Germans. Goldscheider started factories in England and in Trenton, New Jersey. The Trenton factory started in 1940 as Goldscheider USA. From 1941 to 1947 it became Goldscheider Everlast Corporation. From 1947 to 1953 it was Goldcrest Ceramics Corporation. In 1950 the Vienna plant was returned to Mr. Goldscheider and it closed in 1953.
