This offering is for ONE very rare and fabulous remnant of primo backcloth...enough to make a smashing pillow. Very fabulously rare and iconic textured nubby barkcloth from the mid century. A patternry of pure space kinetic fascination...it is as if the greats...Joan...Alexander and Pablo went to lunch and ingested s one shrooms before taking to the sketch pads to create complete madness on cotton. And cotton folks from the 1950’s is not the cheap cotton of today all GMO’d and ruined...the shitification of cotton is what I call it...oftentimes customers will write me asking about vintage fabrics and comparing them to new fabrics of today...there is no comparison...cotton today is disposable...and made to wither away in use and washes...these barkcloth fabrics were made with a. resilience unparalleled and is why today you still see it...I always say cotton is diamonds softer sister...and more valuable in my option! A mottled ground of creams and green yellows meant to show movement of space and air...with cosmic...kinetic...atomic imagery of whales diving through space...fish...spheres...a sun like crustaceans...a multitude of blending of air and under water life with flotation as the mode of aesthetic here. Colors are terrific...coral orange...lime...wasabi...lemon chartreuse...chocolate...minty green...with mocha and dark chocolate and white accents. Measures 24 inches wide x 23 inches long. Flawless.
