A beautiful and substantial German-made Gritzner R sewing machine in the later "new version" design, manufactured by Gritzner-Kayser AG, Karlsruhe-Durlach, Germany.
This is the distinctive later green version of the famous Gritzner R model. Specialist German sewing-machine documentation dates this green hand-crank version to approximately 1945 to the mid-1950s. The R model itself was produced for many decades and underwent significant external redesigns while retaining its robust mechanical concept.

The Gritzner R is known for its extremely robust mechanical construction. The specialist German reference describes the R as one of Gritzner's long-running and particularly durable models. The hand-crank drive uses approximately a 1:3 transmission ratio.

Cosmetic condition
Very attractive overall condition for a vintage machine of this age.
