Heintz Art Metal Shop of Buffalo, New York, Bronze Bowl(Pattern No. 3723).
A classic Heintz Art Metal Shop bronze bowl in their brownpatina finish with sterling silver overlay of cattails/marsh reeds, producedwith Heintz's patented technique. Squat,wide-mouth bowl. On bottom: "AHMS" diamond logo,"STERLING ON BRONZE," the August 27, 1912 patent date, and pattern mark3723. 2.25-inches tall. 3.75-inchesdiameter.
Condition: See detailed photos. Patina looks original and even, silveroverlay appears complete with good contrast against the bronze. Normal handlingwear. Remnants of felt pad adhesive onbottom (visible in photo), which I have not tried to remove.
Heintz was an American Arts & Crafts era metalwaremanufacturer active in the early 20th century, with this piece likely producedfrom 1912–1929. The company closed in1930.
