ITEM DESCRIPTION

This vintage Hertwig & Co German Porcelain Putto Red Basket Candle Holder is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Made in Germany, this charming piece dates to approximately 1920–1950 and measures approximately 3 1/4\" tall.

The candle holder depicts a young putto or cherub kneeling on a rounded base while holding an oversized bright red-orange basket or vessel. The child is finished in glossy white porcelain with softly modeled facial features, curly hair, and a playful expression.

The large basket forms the candle cup and provides a wonderful contrast against the creamy white porcelain. Its bold red-orange glaze makes this an especially attractive and unusual decorative piece.

This charming Hertwig & Co design features a kneeling putto supporting an oversized basket-shaped candle cup. The figure\'s softly modeled features and glossy white porcelain are characteristic of early-to-mid-20th-century German decorative porcelain.
