Historical Reproduction Animal Powder Horn on Rope For Sale

This item is a vintage reproduction powder horn, historically used for storing gunpowder for firearms, commonly featuring a cow or bovine horn construction with a wooden stopper. Stopper is missing.
Typically crafted from natural bovine horn, which is lightweight and virtually waterproof. Designed to store and transport black powder safely, as horn is a non-sparking material. This one is equipped with a cord or rope for carrying. It also has a carved out semi circular section on the top. This was possibly used for historical reenactments. It measures approximately 10 1/2 inches long and is 3 inches in diameter at the base and only a half inch diameter at the tip the cordage strap that is attached by way of knots is approximately 16 inches long.
