BLENKO Historical Reproduction Keene GVIII‑2 Sunburst Flask Decanter Deep Amber
A beautifully made BLENKO historical reproduction of the Keene GVIII‑2 Sunburst flask form, executed here as a bottle/decanter in deep amber. Blenko’s mid‑century amber is known for its richness — dark amber in normal light, warming to honey when lit — and this piece shows that color beautifully.
The bottle features the classic radiating Sunburst pattern, originally produced in the early 1800s by Keene, NH glasshouses and later revived by Blenko for museum‑shop distribution. These Sunburst forms were part of Blenko’s historical line, created to preserve early American mold designs using modern hand‑blown techniques.
The inner portion of the neck shows ground wear from stopper use, typical of Blenko’s historical decanter adaptations of flask molds. The base is partially polished with a softened pontil, consistent with Blenko’s mid‑century finishing style.
