Up for offer is a fine verylarge Korean porcelain moon jar with an inscription by Cardinal Kim Soo-Hwan,the first Korean Catholic cardinal. The pieceis about 12 5/8 inches tall by 12 7/8 inches in diameter. It is hand painted with bamboo in underglazeblue on one side. The back has a Koreaninscription “To emit light you must burn yourself” – Cardinal Kim Soo-hwan. He was made cardinal in 1969, so the jar was madeafter that. It has a two characterKorean mark on the base.

Condition on the piece is verygood. There is an original firing crackin the interior, but otherwise just light wear.An impressive large jar!
