Identified Army Major General Swagger Sticks, 2 Star General Auto & Desk Flags For Sale

Offering for sale military memorabilia - 2 swagger sticks and two flags - belonging to an identified two star Army general. Major General Rollyn Cliffton Gibbs (1935-2025), was a distinguished military graduate of The Ohio State University, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor in 1958. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving his country with honor for over 37 years. He rose to the rank of Major General, commanding the 83rd Army Reserve Command in Columbus and playing a pivotal role in preparing units for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. His service included significant contributions to military civic action projects and international military integration efforts. He was also a member of the Board of the Army War College Foundation. The larger flag was flown on General Gibbs’ automobile and the smaller displayed on his desk, identifying and giving him the honor due his rank of two star general. The other two items are swagger sticks carried by General Gibbs. Swagger sticks are carried by uniformed military personnel as a traditional symbol of authority and rank. He may have used them during parades, inspections, or drills to point, gesture, or keep alignment. Swagger sticks were also used to help leaders project confidence and military bearing. Both sticks are approximately 20 inches long, with the wooden one being slightly shorter. Each have a shell on the end. The wooden stick has a cartridge on the end, while the metal stick has a bullet. The flags have been rolled in storage. I did not attempt to steam out any wrinkles.
