A ruby red Iittala art glass bird from the celebrated Birds by Toikka collection, etched with Oiva Toikka\'s signature on the underside. Since 1972, Toikka\'s birds have been hand-blown at the Iittala glassworks in Finland, with each piece finished by a team of master glassblowers — which is why no two are ever exactly alike.
Oiva Toikka (1931–2019) is one of Scandinavia\'s most beloved glass designers, and his Birds by Toikka series has become a cornerstone of Finnish modern collecting. The deep ruby red color catches light beautifully, and the silhouette\'s graceful tilt suggests a bird mid-song or mid-flight. A sculptural piece that reads as joyful and considered on a shelf, a mantel, a bedside, or a bookcase.
