Descriptions:Listed for your consideration is a vintage / antique hand-painted Nippon Sugar Bowl with Lid. White porcelain, though some describe it as the palest of green, with a motif of pink roses. Green shading and trim. Accented in gilt. Has two small handles and its' original lid with green-tipped finial.
Has the Nippon Rising Sun hallmark which,according to Gotheborg.com's "Japanese Porcelain Marks" website, "is probably related to Noritake. This mark however is datable to the "Nippon" period 1890-1921, probably slightly later, maybe at least into the 1930s."
This is an old and lovely piece, made of a fine porcelain and delicately hand-painted for the Japanese export market of the day. Pink roses anda bright, golden gilt, so Edwardian! Yet withgeometric ruffles circling the bowl, so early Art Deco!Very nice in every way!
